Oh yes. There’s a whole world waaaaay beyond a woman’s pelvic floor muscles, glutes, and abs. As women, we are much more than the muscles within our body. As a Pilates-based pelvic floor PT, this is a bold statement. And people who know me know that I LOVE (love love love) how amazing our physical bodies truly are. But, we need to step beyond the body and the muscles in order to fully support each woman and her unique inner workings, circumstances, thoughts, mindsets, and support systems.
As postpartum women, you can attest to the importance of your pelvic floor, glutes, and abdominals; BUT, you can also attest to the importance of *LIFE* and the magnitude carried by your histories, the people you’re surrounded by, your circumstances in life, and even your day-to-day grinds. As modern times progress, you moms are required to hold heavier and heavier loads on your shoulders (recall a previous post here on the price modern day life).
It doesn’t matter how strong and/or lengthened the pelvic floor muscles, glutes, and abs are, unless a Mother’s load is lightened and She is supported by the right approach, our beloved mothers will continue to ride down a path to crisis involving energy depletion, pain cycles, and (honestly) feelings of resentment and frustration.
The truth is, as a postpartum woman, you’re more than just your physical body. As a postpartum woman, your physical, mental, and emotional containers have been stretched to the limits. Your eating, exercise, and sleep habits have all changed. There can be progressive day-to-day overwhelm that occurs, perpetuating hormone imbalances and causing cycles of pain, fatigue, brain fog, and altered digestion. Getting support to help you unpack your list of concerns, unlock your potential, and help you discern what your postpartum health means to you (versus what society, social media, and your team of medical providers tell you to do) can help you craft more time and space into your life by practicing boundary-setting, empowering you to express your needs unapologetically, and finding an exercise routine and monthly rhythm that flows with YOUR needs. As a woman, you are naturally creative and resourceful, so you’ll use your own instinctive & intuitive guidance in the process.
And so – to this end – I invite all of you reading this to give yourself and/or a beloved postpartum friend the gift of support and sustainability. I’ve crafted a unique and individualized program emphasizing postpartum support that moves beyond the physical body.
(and so!) INTRODUCING….
SUSTAINING MOM PROGRAM
4th trimester support for women who KNOW life can be less chaotic and more fun…
This program is for you if you are:
- Postpartum (remember, once postpartum, always postpartum!)
- Frustrated with current exercise routine ‘not doing the trick’ (ie, feeling stuck, still in pain)
- Overwhelmed with too much day-to-day constant buzz & to-dos (preventing you from being able to exercise, get some zzz’s, and connect with your kiddos and loved ones)
- Feeing resentment because you’ve lost your body, time, and energy (why does it seem like everyone else gets to have the fun?)
This program is for you if you:
- Want to feel supported & validated in your wishes/desires (including actually learning strategies HOW to carve out more time so you can have more energy to do the things you love)
- Want to feel whole, light, energetic and more pliable so you can move more freely
- Want to feel empowered by better boundaries (ie, get support in learning how to say “thanks but no thanks” to those things and those people who no longer serve you)
What you’ll gain:
- You’ll feel more supported, less frustrated, and no longer resentful and consistently overwhelmed.
- You’ll take away forever tools and strategies that support you through the years (*cough, cough* even into menopause)
- And the other bonus byproducts: less body aches, more energy, more balanced hormones, simply more *pliable*. You’ll be living a better version of yourself WITH kid(dos) in tow!
Are you ready to take the leap of faith?
The world is your oyster, mama!
Cheers!
